Congress tears into ‘sulking’ PDP-BJP coalition, slams ‘love-hate’ relationship

New Delhi [India], Dec. 10 : After Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti walked out of her Cabinet meeting midway yesterday, the Congress on Saturday took a jibe at the love-hate relationship between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition and said if both cannot get along together, they should not be together.

"How can one have a love hate relationship which is based more on hate and less on love between two collation partners of the government? How can they be sulking in each corner of their own? It is far too serious and should not be brushed under the carpet.

If you can't get along together, don't get together," Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi told ANI. Singhvi said Jammu and Kashmir is having two different governments, one in Jammu and the other in the Kashmir valley adding that the state is witnessing a coalition that is not on talking terms.

On Friday, Mufti walked out of her Cabinet meeting, following opposition from some of her cabinet colleagues regarding a proposal to restructure the Kashmir Police Service (KPS) officers cadre.

Some BJP ministers objected to the proposal, saying that DIGs and IGs are IPS officers and no one can be promoted to this level unless inducted into the IPS.
