DC’s ‘Aquaman’ to hit theatres in October 2018

Washington D.C. [USA], Dec. 3 : 'Warner Bros.' recently announced that Jason Momoa's standalone movie 'Aquaman' directed by James Wan is slated to release on October 5, 2018 in both 3D and Imax.

Executive produced by Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, and Rob Cowan, the movie is the first title to land on that date, reports variety.com.

'Warner Bros.' said last year that the character would be caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and the undersea Atlanteans, who are ready to lash out in revolt.

Aquaman is the king of Atlantis, a DC Comics character who was born half-human as Arthur Curry and half-Atlantean.

He was first introduced in the early 1940s. Momoa made his debut as 'Aquaman' in March in a cameo in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and will reprise that role in 'Justice League' which is set to bow on November 17 next year with Snyder directing from a script by Chris Terrio.

Amber Heard will also star in 'Justice League' as Mera, the love interest of Aquaman. 'Aquaman' is set to begin shooting in Australia next year..
