Don’t compare ‘Banjo’ with ‘Rockstar’: Riteish Deshmukh

New Delhi, Aug. 10 : Actor Riteish Deshmukh, who would be seen playing a street musician in the upcoming musical film 'Banjo', feels that it would be unfair to compare his movie with Ranbir Kapoor's 2011 film 'Rockstar'.

On being asked about the same, Riteish, 37, was quoted by PinkVilla as saying, "I am a big Ranbir Kapoor fan, but the comparison of two films is not fair," during the trailer launch 'Banjo'.

Talking about the same, the movie's leading lady Nargis Fakhri, who played Ranbir's love interest in Imtiaz Ali directorial, said, "Rockstar is totally a different film.

Yes, it's a music film, but this is really different." While in the terms of looks, Riteish, who would be seen sporting long locks in the film, bears similarity with Ranbir's character in 'Rockstar'.

'Banjo', which is being directed by Ravi Jadhav, is based on the banjo players hailing from Maharashtra and is slated to hit theatres on September 23.
