Special arrangements were made by the forest department on the occasion. Seven years ago, a baby elephant was found injured near the sanctuary. The forest department cured her wounds and gave her second life and that day was October 7. Since then the officials have been celebrating Rajni's birthday every year. Several school children visited the sanctuary to celebrate Rajni's birthday. The forest department brought a seven pound cake on the occasion which was cut in the presence of the kids, who wished the jumbo a long life.
