Eric Clapton’s guitar auctioned for (Dollar) 60K
Melbourne, July 24 : British singer-songwriter Eric Clapton's guitar was sold at an auction for 60,000 dollars to cover medical bills from Texas musician Johnny Nicholas' wife's leukemia treatment and support leukemia research. Heritage Auctions in Dallas said in a statement on July 23 that the high bid for the 2014 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar was telephoned, reports News.com.au. According to Heritage spokesman Eric Bradley, the bidder requested anonymity, but the bid was more than twice what was expected. It was one of two guitars Clapton played last year at his Slowhand at 70 concerts in London's Royal Albert Hall. Nicholas is a member of the Grammy Award-winning band 'Asleep at the Wheel.'
