Fake passport row: CBI files FIR against ‘unknown’ MEA officials

New Delhi [India], Apr. 18 : The Central Bureau of Investigation [CBI] has filed an FIR against unknown officials from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for issuing fake passports to 12 people.

The FIR report states that the CBI received a tip off that unknown MEA officials have committed criminal misconduct by abusing their official position as public servant and entered into a criminal conspiracy with private persons namely Raja Kipa, Thupten, Kalden Kunseng, Luck Mughato and other unknown persons during the period December 20156 to march 2017.

The official passports were then fraudulently issues to 12 private persons on the basis of forged and fabricated documents for the purpose of their trafficking to USA by posing them as Government officials of the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

The accused persons facilitated issuance of official passports to the 12 private persons namely Karpi Gamlin, Hage Kobin, Heri Robin, Taylor Tache, Taba Reema, Anjali Yangfo, Yura Yatang, Tana Roshni, Benjamin Pangkam, Mokar Basar, Lee Ete and Mitali Wangjin on the basis of false/forged documents and information.
