Fame teaches you so much: Vidya Balan

Mumbai [India], Nov. 13 : The very talented Vidya Balan, who has completed 11-steady-years in Bollywood, feels that her perception about Bollywood has evolved with time, adding that fame has taught her a lot.

"My perception about Bollywood has evolved with time, it has not changed. Fame teaches you so much," said the actress at an event here recently. "It (11 years in Bollywood) has been fascinating and marvelous. It was better than what I expected. Ofcourse, there are ups and downs. When you are down, you feel like it is the end of the world because everything is so magnified here. If I had to relive it, I would have done it exactly the same way. I feel really blessed as I am living my dream of being an actor," she added. The 'Dirty Picture' actress, who has always been seen taking up challenging role in all her films also stated, "I can't bear anything that's stereotypical.

Routine bores me." "I choose roles instinctively. I have no formula or takes. I ask myself, do I really want to tell this story or whether I want to watch this film as an audience.

Do I want to live this person's life?" she said when asked for her formula while picking up projects. When quizzed about who she looked up to during her young-days, Vidya exclaimed it to be her 'TE3N' and 'Paa' co-star Amitabh Bachchan.

"I think when I was growing up, it was only Amitabh Bachchan for me and for most of the country. I remember, my mom keeps telling me that if 'saara zamana' were not shown on Chitrahar or Chayageet or in shows like such, I would not eat my dinner.I have always been a Bachchan fan," she said.

On the work front, the 38-year-old actress is busy promoting 'Kahaani 2' now-a-days, which also stars Arjun Rampal and is set to release on December 2.

Talking about her character in the Sujoy Ghosh-flick, Vidya said, "Durga Rani Singh is complicated. She is someone who seems and rather wants to be invisible. She does not want to interact with the world and lives in her own world." She will also be seen in Srijit Mukherjee's 'Begum Jaan' and will portray poetess Kamala Surayya aka Kamala Das in her biopic.
