Fourth Annual Conference of India Section to explore, discuss issues on analytical sciences

New Delhi [India], Nov 3 : The India Section of the AOAC INTERNATIONAL is pleased to announce its fourth annual conference scheduled to take place from November 11-12, 2016 at The Park Hotel, New Delhi.

The aim of this conference is to provide a forum for international educators, scientists, scholars, researchers, industry professionals, laboratory chemists, policy-makers, and graduate students with the opportunity to explore, network and discuss issues in the topics on analytical sciences.

The AOAC International is a globally recognized, independent, non-profit organization that caters to the analytical needs of different sectors.

It is the forum for finding appropriate science-based solutions through the development of microbiological and chemical standards.

The India section of the AOAC International was founded in 2011 and since then it has been a medium between the AOAC INTERNATIONAL and the Indian Analytical Community.

AOAC standards are used globally to promote trade and to facilitate public health and safety. The inaugural session will be graced by the presence of Dr. Kaushik Banerjee, President, India Section of the AOAC INTERNATIONAL, Pawan Kumar Agarwal, CEO, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.

The talk session will include topics which are Challenges in Food Safety Regulatory Compliance, Environmental persistence of veterinary drug residues - a neglected cause of residues, Ensuring Food Safety through Harmonization of Analytical Methodology, Analytical Quality Control Techniques in a Testing Lab and New Frontiers in Food Analytics.

Amongst other eminent speakers at the conference include Dr. Paul Young, Senior Director for Government Affairs at Waters Corporation, Dr. Ranjan Mitra, President-Elect, India Section of AOAC INTERNATIONAL, Dr. A. Laxmaiah, Scientist F and Head, Division of Community Studies, National Institute of Nutrition, ICMR-Hyderabad.

R K Gupta, Head (QA / Sur.), Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. The conference will be ended by award session including aledictory address by Dr. Erik Konings, Immediate Past President of AOAC INTERNATIONAL and Global Analytical Method Alignment Coordinator, Nestle Research Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.
