Gurugram sees surge with 3,759 Covid cases in 16 days

Gurugram, Sep 14 : Gurugram recorded 3,759 Covid-19 cases in the last 16 days from August 30 to September 14.

Officials said the reason behind the rise in cases is the flouting of Covid-19 safety norms.

"We are registering more than 300 cases every day.

It is a concern for us. We are working hard to contain spread in limited places. People need to follow Covid guidelines and maintain social distancing rules," said a health official.

In view of the rising cases, the district administration has suggested home isolation.

"It has been observed that 80 per cent of corona-infected patients may recover from it if they follow necessary guidelines of the health department," he said.

Meanwhile, the district health department detected 336 fresh infections in the district on Monday.

The Covid-19 tally in Gurugram rose to 15,585, according to a daily health bulletin.

Two more patients infected with coronavirus died on Monday in Gurugram.

A total of 149 people in the district have lost their lives to the dreaded virus till date.

There are 2,317 active Covid cases in Gurugram.

A total of 13,119 people have been cured and discharged after recovery.

The health department said out of 149 deaths, 105 died due to co-morbidities and the remaining 44 without co-morbidity.

Meanwhile, Amit Khatri, District Commissioner, Gurugram has directed all government and private hospitals in the district to reserve at least 35 per cent of beds for Covid-19 patients.

"These health facilities have been instructed to update the data about availability of beds daily on onemapggm.gmda.gov.in," Khatri said.
