Dibrugarh (Assam), July 26 : Heavy rainfall continued to paralyse normal lives in Assam. Flood-like situation continued in Dibrugarh district and many areas are also submerged. As per reports, over 12 lakh population are reeling under the fury of flood in 18 districts of Assam. Nearly one lakh hectare of crop areas has also been inundated. On the other hand, the district administrations have set up 220 relief camps where 88,000 people are taking shelter.

A large area of the Kaziranga National Park is inundated with rain water, forcing the animals to migrate in search of elevated grounds.

Several ministers have visited the flood-hit areas to take stock of the relief and rescue measures..
