High level of mutual understanding between India, Kazakhstan recalled at 25th Independence Day reception

New Delhi [India], Dec.5 : A reception to mark the 25th Independence Day anniversary of Kazakhstan and the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at The Imperial hotel here on Friday evening.

The event was graced by Mr. Vijay Goel, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, who was the chief guest on behalf of the Indian government.

Speaking on the occasion, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to India, Bulat Sarsenbayev, spoke of the current high-level of mutual understanding and achievements in various fields of cooperation between the two countries.

He said, "I am sure that our mutual efforts will be directed at boosting bilateral ties for the sake of prosperity of our peoples and countries, as well as peace, security and stability in the region." To mark the occasion, the Government of Kazakhstan flew in the Symphony Orchestra of Almaty led by outstanding Kazakh violinist Marat Bisengaliyev and well-known opera singer Oxana Davydenko for a classical music performance that left invitees mesmerised.

On December 3, the Symphony Orchestra of Almaty performed a concert by soloists that showcased the level of cultural development of Kazakhstan and opened the new horizons for cooperation between the two countries the sphere of culture.

Apart from the Symphony Orchestra of Almaty, internationally-renowned violinist Marat Bisengaliev is also the founding music director of the Symphony Orchestra of India - the first and only symphony orchestra in India, the backbone of which consists of Kazakh musicians.

Among the guests who attended the events were well-known politicians and public figures, such as members of the House of the People (Lower Chamber) of the Parliament of India Virender Kashyap (BJP party) and Baijayant Panda (Janata Dal Biju party), former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, heads of the diplomatic missions, representatives of business circles, mass media, as well as many classical music lovers of Delhi audience.

The Independence Day reception on December 2, was also attended by Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Akylbek Kamaldinov, who was in India on a working visit.

Within the framework of events, Ambassador Sarsenbayev gave interviews to some Indian TV channels, news agencies and radio stations.
