Illegal mining case: SIT arrests Karnataka Principal Secy

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India] may 15 : Principal Secretary of Karnataka Revenue Department was on Monday arrested in the illegal mining case.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested Ganga Ram Baderiya, Principal Secretary Government of Karnataka, in connection with the Janthakal illegal mining case.

He is likely to produced before court on Tuesday. He was arrested for his file notings in 2007 as commissioner of mines during H. D. Kumaraswamy's Chief Ministership to renew the mining lease. Baderia, IAS officer Karnataka 1989 batch, was promoted to the post in March this year from Secretary Revenue department (Disaster Management, Bhoomi and UPOR) Government of Karnataka.
