‘Impossible’ for 17 SC judges to take care of entire country: Pak judge

Hyderabad [Pakistan], Mar. 27 : Pakistan Supreme Court Justice Amir Hani Muslim has said that it is impossible for 17 apex court judges to take care of the entire country.

The Dawn quoted Justice Muslim as saying that most problems can be settled at the lower level if all institutions started performing their duties honestly, lamenting that even minor issues reach the top court for settlement.

He made these remarks at a farewell dinner hosted in his honour by the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) on Saturday.

Justice Muslim said the apex court in Pakistan presently handles 100 cases in a day. Outgoing Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, apex court judges Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and others were also present at the gathering.
