‘India Runway Week’ grows bigger this season, again

New Delhi (India), Sept. 30 : Often lost among the top designers, young designer labels and fresh collection each April and September is one key fact at IFFD's 'India Runway Week,' which ended on September 18, is a major revenue and recognition generator for these young designers.

This season witnessed lots of changes, including introduction of two show areas- Main show Area and Fashion Brooder Runway.

Fashion Brooder Runway, the new inclusion, was build on the standard of international fashion weeks where the length of runway was around 90 feet which is the longest runway in India.

They even placed LED screen so as to use different graphics as per the requirement of the designers. In India, India Runway Week is the third biannual fashion property with two show areas after 'Amazon Fashion Week' and 'Lakme Fashion Week.' This season of 'India Runway Week,' also witnessed an offsite show for the first time.

The grand finale was offsite where raw runway was created which was 200 feet long and with the gathering of 1000+ individuals.

To everyone's surprise, super cars like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Audi were there as a showstopper for the finale show.

This season also had gone yet more glamorous with different Bollywood celebrities like Zeenat Aman, Sharmila Tagore, Esha Gupta, Mugda Godse and Mandana Karimi walking the runway.

At 'India Runway Week' had Delhi Government school students in the queues. When enquired with organiser about it, they told this is a CSR initiative of IFFD where they are giving a glimpse of prospective to the Government school students, who have taken vocational courses like makeup, designing.

This season's batch of shows has possibly showcased the most amount of Indian textile ever seen during any fashion week.

Shows like Bibi Russell and Daniel Syiem have been influencing the inclusion of Indian textile to the next level.
