Investigation team to probe Quetta Police academy attack

Islamabad [Pakistan], Oct. 26 : The Balochistan Government on Wednesday said an investigation team would probe the Quetta Police college attack.

The investigation team will be led by Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Aitzaz Goraya. The Dawn quoted Deputy Inspector General Police, Quetta, Abdul Razzaq Cheema as saying, "The support of Punjab's forensic agency will also be sought." "The team will visit the site of the carnage and speak to survivors of the tragedy to probe the incident," he added.

The team will soon submit its report to the Balochistan Government. Markets and shopping centres remained closed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan to mourn those killed in the carnage.

Central leader of Anjuman-e-Tajaran Balochistan Allah Dad Tareen said, "We voluntarily closed our shops to mourn the killing of innocent cadets." The police and Frontier Corps personnel have been deployed at all sensitive areas of Quetta to avert any untoward incident.
