ISPR chief Asim Bajwa appointed as IG Arms at GHQ

Islamabad [Pakistan], Dec. 12 : In a major reshuffle within the Pakistan Army, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt.

Gen. Asim Bajwa has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) (Arms) at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The ISPR said in a statement, that the list of transferred included Major General Bilal Akbar being posted as Chief of General Staff (CGS) and Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt.

Gen. Rizwan Akhtar Baig being posted as the president of the National Defence University. The development comes two weeks after General Qamar Bajwa took over as the country's 16th army chief, reports the Express Tribune.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of the Frontier Corps (FC) Lt. Gen. Sher Afgun has been posted as the Commander of the Bahawalpur-based 31 Corps. Peshawar Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Hidayatur Rehman has been appointed as Inspector General of General Training and Evaluation (IGT (and) E) at the GHQ.

Lt. Gen. Nazir Butt, presently president of the NDU, has been appointed as Corps Commander Peshawar (11 Corps); Lt.

Gen. Hamayun Aziz has been appointed as Inspector General C (and) IT at GHQ; Lt. Gen. Qazi Ikram has been appointed as Chief of Logistic Staff at GHQ; Lt. Gen. Muhammad Afzal to continue as DG Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and Lt. Gen. Naeem Ashraf has been posted as Chairman, Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT).
