Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], Apr 27 : A group of U.S. lawmakers have extended their support to President Donald Trump's plan to replace his predecessor's landmark healthcare scheme.
As many as 30 members of the House Freedom Caucus announced their support for the bill to revoke the Affordable Care Act, more popularly known as Obamacare, reported the Anadolu Agency.
The development is believed to allow states to scrap the "cost driving aspects" of Obamacare, in the words of Caucus.
"We look forward to working with our Senate colleagues to improve the bill. Our work will continue until we fully repeal Obamacare," the Anadolu Agency quoted the Caucus. The amendment is believed to restrict health insurance costs and establish minimum standards by enabling states to seek waivers from provisions.
Republicans will need 216 votes to pass the American Health Care Act through the House..
