Johannesburg, Aug.2 : Seamer Nuwan Pradeep became the latest player to join Sri Lanka's injury list after suffering a hamstring problem in training ahead of the second match of the three-Test series against Australia, which starts in Galle on Thursday.
The 29-year-old is now required to undergo a fitness test later this week in order to determine whether he will feature in the upcoming match.
Pradeep has been integral part of Lanka's seam bowling attack in the recent times, having featured in last nine Tests for the country,Sport24 reported.
Paceman Suranga Lakmal is yet to recover from his hamstring strain, while other injured players include Dhammika Prasad, Dushmantha Chameera and Jeffrey Vandersay.
The Angelo Mathews-led side is now likely to give opportunity to either Vishwa Fernando or Asitha Fernando to make their debut, with the former being the more experienced at first-class level.
Lanka are currently leading the series 1-0 following their emphatic 106-run win against the world's top-ranked side in the longest format.
