Washington D.C. [USA], Dec. 19 : Marc Anthony and his wife of two years model Shannon de Lima are officially getting divorced. The 48-year-old singer and de Lima confirmed the news, saying their decision to separate was mutual, reports E! Online.
"After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage," said the two in a statement.
"We ask for privacy during this difficult process, and no further comments will be made from either one of us about this personal matter," they requested.
While the couple had until now remained mum about their split, the 'Vivir Mi Vida' singer's father Felipe Muniz referenced it in an interview with Telemundo Puerto Rico at his son's concert earlier this month.
"He's going through tough times right now, but he knows how to accept what comes out of this. He has a lot of experience (in separations)," Muniz said. The 28-year-old Venezuelan model has a nine-year-old son from a previous relationship, while Anthony has two daughters and three sons from his previous marriages.
However, the couple has no children together. Anthony has earlier been married twice-- to Puerto Rican actress Dayanara Torres for four years and to Jennifer Lopez for seven years.
