Meghalaya’s Ramie fabric to be star at Delhi event

New Delhi, Feb 20 : Seventeen designers like Lecoanet Hemant, Rajesh Pratap Singh and Aneeth Arora will showcase their work using Maghalaya's homegrown fabric, Ramie, at the French ambassador's residence here on Thursday.

The designers will present their collections in the form of apparels or jewellery as the brief they were given was "no brief", read a statement.

The project, "From Fibre To Fashion", is in collaboration with Sagar of the popular fashion house Lecoanet Hemant and the government of Meghalaya.

Other designers who are supporting this initiative are Alan Alexander of KALEEKAL, Atsu Sekhose of Atsu, Amrita Khanna and Gursi Singh of Lovebirds, Adil Iqbal Ahmed, Dhruv Kapur of DRVV, Daniel Syem, Payal Khandwala, Peachoo Singh, Priyanka Ella of P.E.L.L.A., Ruchika Sachdeva of Bodice, Rekha Bhatia (and) Nikki Kalia of Kishmish, Shyma Shetty and Pranav Mishra of Huemn, Savio Jon Fernandes and Srishti Arora of AKIHI.
