Mother carries ailing child, performs cop duty

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), April 21 : A woman sub-inspector (SI) posted at Civil Lines police station in Moradabad has been seen carrying her ailing one-year-old daughter in her arms even as she stands guard at the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) trisection to nab lockdown violators.

Photographs of the women officer from Uttar Pradesh are now going viral on the social media and are reminiscent of an earlier photograph in which a woman personnel was seen carrying her infant while she was on duty for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's visit to Noida in March.

Nishu Kadiyan's one-year-old daughter Niyati has been running fever.

The child keeps asking for her mother at home and would not be pacified so her father had to bring the baby to her mother who was on duty.

With a face mask on, the baby now sticks to her mother and refuses to go home.

Nishu Kadiyan, with the baby in her arms, continues to perform her duties during lockdown.

"The district is on the high alert and I cannot forego my duty so I have to manage the baby as well as my duty," said the woman officer.

Nishu has two children and a caretaker to look after them.

Her husband, a businessman, also helps her in looking after the children.

"Even though I am holding my baby in my arms, I have been performing my duty with full dedication and have booked many people who were loitering in the area.

On Monday, we issued around 20 e-challans for violating the lockdown norms," said the cop.

Superintendent of Police (city) Amit Anand said that it was laudable that the police personnel are conscious of their duties and are performing them even in adverse circumstances.
