MP CM Chouhan lauds “courageous” PM, urges people to go cashless

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Dec. 4 : Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's courageous decision of demonetisation, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said this move with strengthen the Indian economy and urged the people to go cashless.

Chouhan, who attended a program on digital cashless economy in Bhopal, said his government is committed to the development of all irrespective of their class.

"Doubts have been expressed about the result of this decision whereas the truth is the Indian economy will strengthen and will move forward speedily," he said.

The Chief Minister, who has constituted a five-member committee to prepare a roadmap for the state government to switch over to cashless system within a stipulated period of time, lauded the Prime Minister and said only a patriotic and extraordinary person can take this kind of historic decision.

"This decision has broken the back of terrorism and it has stopped counterfeit currency and corruption," he said.

Chouhan, however, admitted that the people are facing problems post the demonetisation of high-value currency notes.

"25 days have passed, 25 more days to be patient. But by standing in line and helping us with this decision, you have shown patriotism towards the nation.

Opposition is making fun and raising question, but if such decision will take the country forward then we are ready to face a bit of difficulties and we will stand by PM Modi," he added.
