Muhammad Zubair appointed new Sindh governor

Islamabad [Pakistan], Jan. 31: Muhammad Zubair has been appointed as the new governor of Sindh following the demise of Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui.

Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain has approved the name of Zubair advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, reports the Express Tribune.

Zubair will continue to serve as the chairman of the Privatisation Commission until he takes oath as governor.

He is the son of retired General Ghulam Umar and the brother of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf member Asad Umar.

Zubair was the chairman of the Pakistan Board of Investment from July 2013 to December 2013. He has been serving as Chairman of the Privatisation Commission of Pakistan with the status of Minister of State since December 2013.
