New Delhi, Aug. 17 : Former union minister Najma Heptulla was on Wednesday appointed as the Governor of Manipur. Heptullah will be the 18th Governor of the state. She had resigned from the Ministry of Minority Affairs on July 12, as she had crossed the age of 75. Meghalaya Governor V. Shamuganathan has been looking after the state of Manipur from September 30, 2015. The Congress-ruled state goes to polls in February next year..
