NSAs of Pak, India made contact after recent tensions at LoC: Sartaz Aziz

Islamabad [Pakistan], Oct. 3 : Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that a contact was established between the National Security Advisors of Islamabad and New Delhi following recent tensions between the two nations on the Line of Control (LoC).

Aziz said that Pakistan's NSA Lieutenant General (Retd.) Nasir Khan Janjua and his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval have agreed to ease tensions on the LoC, adding that New Delhi wants to divert the world's attention from Kashmir by escalating tensions.

"Pakistan wants to reduce tensions on LoC and focus on Kashmir", the Geo News quoted him as saying. Talking about Sharif's recent visit to the United States, Aziz said that the Prime Minister explained to the world leaders that without the resolution of Kashmir issue, the incidents of border tensions would continue to go on between the arch-rivals.

The relations between the two Asian neighbours ran into hot waters following the recent attack on the Indian Army's brigade headquarters in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.
