On PM Modi’s behalf, Naqvi offers ‘chaadar’ at Ajmer Sharif Dargah

Ajmer (Rajasthan) [India], Apr. 1 : Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday offered a 'chaadar' on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the dargah of Sufi saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.

A message of Prime Minister Modi was also read out on the occasion of the 805th annual 'Urs'. Reading out the greeting of the Prime Minister, Naqvi said; "Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti is a symbol of India's great spiritual tradition.

Garib Nawaz's service to the humanity will definitely continue to inspire the generations," Naqvi said.

Speaking on Chishti's role in communal harmony, Naqvi said, 'Garib Nawaz' inspires us to strengthen communal and social harmony which can defeat the forces creating conflict in our society.

Moinuddin Chishti, one of the most revered Sufi saints and popularly known as Garib Nawaz, established the Chishti order of Sufism in the Indian subcontinent.

Prime Minister Modi on March 24, had handed over the chaadar to Naqvi and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh in New Delhi.
