P.Kashyap races into Macau Open pre-quarters, Sameer Verma crashes out

Macau [China], Nov.30 : Indian shuttler Parupalli Kashyap on Wednesday secured an easy win over Chinese Taipei's Chun-Wei Chen to storm into the third round of the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament here.

The 30-year-old, who hails from Hyderabad, registered a comfortable 21-19, 21-8 win over Wei Chen in a one-sided second-round clash that lasted about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, Sameer Verma suffered a major blow as he crashed out of the tournament after going down 18-21, 13-21 against Indonesia's Muhammad Bayu Pangisthu.

In the men's doubles event, the Indian pair of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy also rolled into the next round after sweeping aside Indonesian duo of Chan Alan Yun Lung and Li Kuen Hon 21-11, 17-21, 21-9.

Top-seed Saina Nehwal and B. Sai Praneeth will also aim to book their place in the pre-quarterfinals when they take on their respective opponents later today.
