New Delhi [India], Oct. 28 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, which is celebrated two days before the festival of lights Diwali.
The Prime Minister took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras." Prime Minister Modi also re-tweeted a number of messages sent by the people to the soldiers of Indian Army ahead of Diwali.
The Prime Minister has launched a campaign through which the people can send Diwali greetings and messages to boost the morale of the soldiers guarding the nation.
The people can send messages under the #Sandesh2Soldiers campaign on the Narendra Modi app through MyGov.in site and also through the All India Radio.
Other prominent personalities have also tweeted under the #Sandesh2Soldiers campaign, "Whenever you see a jawan, salute them.
We get to celebrate festivals (and) live in peace because of them. Jai Hind #Sandesh2Soldiers," tweeted Virat Kohli. "Ek Sandesh desh Ke REAL HEROES ke liye. "Saluting our jawans (and) their courage! My #Sandesh2Soldiers PM @narendramodi @bcci #HappyDiwali," tweeted Yuvraj Singh.
"I sent my #Sandesh2Soldiers. This Diwali let us all remember our soldiers! via NM App http:nm4.in/dnldapp," tweeted Defence Minister Manohar Parikar.
"Thank you PM @narendramodi ji for motivating us to send our #Sandesh2Soldiers https:youtu.be/wy2hlSAHK5Y via @YouTube" tweeted Maneka Gandhi.
Dhanteras is also known as Dhantryaodashi or Dhanwantri Triodasi. The people purchase precious metals on this day with the belief that it will bring prosperity..
