New Delhi [India], Mar. 31 : Manohar Parrikar on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first visit to the national capital after taking charge as Goa Chief Minister.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister's Office had also tweeted, "Chief Minister of Goa, Shri @manoharparrikar met Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi,".
Parrikar, attended the thirteenth meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) council, scheduled at Vigyan Bhavan.
Parrikar, along with Ministers for Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapathy Raju was present during signing of memorandum of agreement between Ministry of Civil Aviation and GMR Airports, concessionaire for Mopa Airport at Goa.
The Goa Chief Minister called on Prime Minister Modi, where he was assured full support for making Goa a model state in every aspect and was also urged to make Goa the first 'Open Defecation Free' state.
Parrikar also met Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed various administrative as well as policing issues pertaining to the state bureaucracy.
Parrikar also met Minister for environment; forest and climate change Anil Madhav Dave and sought early notification of the Goa specific amendment to the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification 2011.
In his interaction with the Minister for power, Piyush Goyal laid stress on steps to be taken for up gradation and expansion of power infrastructure to provide assured quality power in Goa.
