PM Modi’s #Sandesh2Soldiers campaign receives tidal wave of response

New Delhi [India], Oct. 28 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi's special Diwali campaign titled #Sandesh2Soldiers dedicated to India's Armed Forces personnel has been receiving an overwhelming response from across the nation by the common man and celebrities alike, as over 10 lakh messages have already come in via different mediums.

On 22nd October, the Prime Minister shared a special video and made a heartfelt appeal to the nation to remember our jawans.

The video has received a tremendous response and people from all parts of the country and all walks of life are sending their messages to the jawans.

Approximately seven lakh people have written through Facebook, Twitter (and) MyGov while approximately tgree lakh people have written on Narendra Modi App.

Prominent people who have sent their wishes include Bollywood stars; Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Anupam Kher, Kailash Kher, Sports icons; Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Sakshi Malik, Anand Mahindra.

Many celebrities have sent video messages to convey their emotions, besides several Chief Ministers, Cabinet Ministers and Parliamentarians who have also written to the jawans.

The Prime Minister has been vigorously retweeting the messages sent by commoners and stars alike. Following the surge of pride across the nations post the surgical strikes carried out by the Army on terror launch pads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the campaign through which citizens can send Diwali greetings and messages to soldiers guarding the nation's frontiers.

"I sent my #Sandesh2Soldiers. You could also do the same. Your wishes will certainly make our forces very happy. This Diwali, let us remember our courageous armed forces who constantly protect our nation. Jai Hind. When 125 crore people stand with soldiers, their power increases by 125 crore times," the Prime Minister said in a tweet.
