Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Dec. 31 : The private diagnostic labs in the Kashmir valley are day by day improving their facilities as a result of which the patients over here are getting better facilities.
Earlier, to get few medical tests done, patients had to go outside the state, but now almost all important medical tests can be done in these private diagnostic laboratories.
"Now we have all the diagnostic facility, earlier we did not had this much of facilities. In past 10-15 year private sector has made considerable progress and we have installed all the equipments here.
We have such machinery which is not installed anywhere in India," said Afaaq Ahmad, incharge of private diagnostic lab.
Even the hi-tech facilities, which were a distant dream of patients earlier, are now available here. These world-class laboratory services in the valley have been instrumental in bringing about a paradigm shift in the concept of laboratory medicine and services in Kashmir.
The increase in the number of these diagnostic labs has also generated employment among those youths who have done courses in medical tests.
"We get lots of benefit from this. Few years back these facilities were not available at this hospital. These private labs have developed a lot, which is helpful for patient," Bilal Wani, a patient..
