rangSutra to show case new rural artisan fashion collection in Gurgaon

Gurgaon (Haryana) [India], Oct.8 : rangSutra, a community owned company of over two thousand artisans from the remote regions of India - the deserts of Rajasthan, plains of Eastern U.P and all the way to Manipur in the North East, will be showcasing a new fashion collection at the DLF City Club in Gurgaon, Haryana, on Saturday evening between 4 p.m.

and 6 p.m. A range of a range of exquisitely styled garments for women, including tunics, tops, kurtas, jackets, saris and stoles, handcrafted in a range of techniques, including applique, handloom and block prints will be on display.

rangSutra ensures sustainable livelihoods for artisans by creating top quality hand made products based on the principles of fair trade and a celebration of India's rich craft heritage.

Artisans are co owners and shareholders in the enterprise. It is envisaged as a bridge between rural artisans and the market, between change and continuity, tradition and contemporary, and its core guiding principle is respect for both - the producer and the customer.
