Shops of non-essentials to stay shut till May 3 in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, April 25 : Chandigarh Advisor Manoj Parida said, here on Saturday, shops selling non-essentials would not be operational till May 3 as it had been under curfew and declared a containment zone.

"No industry or factory, nor any e-commerce delivery of non-essential items will be permitted in Chandigarh, which is under curfew and containment zone," he tweeted.

"Manufacture, sale, supply and distribution of liquor will be banned, until further orders," he said.

The prestigious PGI Hospital said seven patients admitted to its dedicated Covid-19 hospital were discharged since April 1.

Many initiatives had been taken to create isolation facilities with proper protection and safety gears in emergency, advanced trauma centre, advanced cardiac centre, advanced paediatric centre and the communicable diseases Ward and other areas in Nehru Hospital for taking care of the severe acute respiratory illness and other Covid-19 suspects, it said.

The PGI is providing medical care to the non-coronavirus patients simultaneously.
