Sodexo conducts first-ever CXO Food Walk with Kalyan Karmakar

New Delhi [India], Feb 7 (ANI-NewsVoir): Sodexo, India's number one employee motivation and benefits services provider, teamed up with food blogger Kalyan Karmakar for one of its kind, CXO Food Walk at south Mumbai's Fort area.

The theme for the event was "working man's lunch" since Kalyan had spent most of his life working in the Fort area.

Knowing the restaurants inside - out and their cuisines was no surprise and Kalyan was excited to share this divine food experience with us via the Sodexo CXO Food Walk.

CXOs from different industries attended the walk down Mumbai's memory lane. It kick started at Ideal Corner, a quaint Irani food joint where the guests dived into the popular Dhansak and lagan nu custard.

The guests were also shown a demo of Sodexo's mobile payments solution which has made it even easier to use the Sodexo Meal card for food and non alcoholic beverages.

Up next was Pradeep Gomantak, where the guests sailed into the shores of some coastal cuisine of Maharashtra and Malvan.

Silence at the table was a mark of great food being enjoyed by one and all the only time people spoke was to reorder some of the food.

Sodexo has been at the forefront in supporting smaller restaurants and helping them remain top of the mind for working people and this initiative was one more step in that direction.

Even though Harish Lunch home was the third stop, it did not stop our CXOs from binging into the mutton and chicken specialties.

And while Taste of Kerala was last on the list, the restaurant left no stone unturned to greet us a grand svagata?.

Starting with welcome drink and some sinful chutneys, the menu moved on to Avial and delectable fish on the green banana leaf.

The evening ended with a hearty laugh, with Kalyan presenting personalised, autographed copies his book "The Travelling Belly" to all the participants.

"We are constantly looking at ways to support small restaurants that have authentic local delicacies and represent our culinary heritage.

We have enabled them with the Sodexo meal card and mobile payment solutions so that our consumers can continue to enjoy their working lunches every day.

The CXO food walk is a great step in bringing some of these restaurants back in people's consideration and hopefully encourage more people to visit them, while offering a unique experience to a select group of CXOs," said VP Marketing Sodexo BRS India, Suvodeep Das.

A Note from the food experts: Vernika Awal The CXO food walk by Sodexo was a great initiative to get together people from all walks of life and give them a platform to bond over and what better than food.

Initiative such as these are a welcome change and also give a chance to rediscover the city outside of the offices and four walls of the home.

It is an experience of a lifetime and I hope Sodexo organizes more such events in the future. Kudos to the team. Shilpa Chawla As they say people who love to eat are the best people #SodexoCXOFoodWalk not only bought the foodie CXO and blogger together under one roof #TravellingBelly made each belly more than satisfied, can't wait for the next one Speaking at the event 'Kalyan Karmakar' said "It's always a pleasure to get busy CXOs to experience authentic, sometimes forgotten cuisines.

I'm happy that Sodexo selected these four amazing restaurants from my book, 'The Travelling Belly' and taste some finger licking food.

The entire experience, including paying for the meals with the Sodexo Mobile pay solution was a delight and I look forward to many more such initiatives in the near future." Sodexo has been a pioneer and leader in cashless payments.

The meal card and the mobile pay are revolutionary efforts towards the changing the payment industry. Not only they encourage ease of payment, but also save taxes in the light of employee benefits. (ANI-NewsVoir).
