‘Stop those working for Inida’s disunity’, says PM Modi

New Delhi [India], Oct. 31 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday flagged off the 'Run for Unity' campaign and urged the nation to take a pledge for national integration and unity.

Recalling the 'Iron Man of India; Prime Minister Modi said, "Today, the way we are watching the entire nation under one national flag, it is because of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel." "We must never forget Sardar Sahab and his mantra for the country's unity," he added.

Prime Minister said that several people are trying to create disunity in the country, and in such circumstances, Indians needed to make more efforts to remain united and stay alert.

"Everybody wants India to be powerful and strong, but for that, first, it is important to have unity in the nation," he said.

Prime Minister Modi also paid floral tribute to Sardar Patel in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on the latter's 141st birth anniversary.

Vallabhai Patel, India's first home minister, played a significant part in forming the Indian Union from 565 princely states.
