Telangana Dy.CM inaugurates model schools for tribal children

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Dec.2 : Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Friday inaugurated the Conference of Tribal Residential Educational Institutions Society and Model Schools held at Indira Priyadarshini Hall in Hyderabad.

Srihari while addressing the gathering explained about the development of tribal residential and educational institutions and model schools.

Around 194 model schools were sanctioned and out of which 192 schools are functioning where, approximately, 1,07,876 students are attending.

Remaining two schools, Balakonda in Nizamabad district and Sirpur in Asifabad district will become functional from the academic year 2017-18 onwards.

Total 2,910 have been appointed as the Teaching Staff where 104 Principals, 2019 Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) and 787 Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) are working in model schools.

Till now 174 Model School buildings are completed and remaining 20 schools are in progress. The government has, so far, sanctioned Rs. 40 crores to complete residential schools. Apart from that, providing basic infrastructure facilities to the existing schools with regards to construction of compound wall, installation of water pump with capacity of 40,000 liters, installation of RO purifiers, CCTV Cameras, and metric attendance monitoring system have been put in place with the government spending a total Rs.65.61 crores.
