Telangana Govt. keen on developing sheep rearing industry: CM

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Jan. 15 : Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday asserted that the state government is keen on developing sheep rearing as a big industry.

Rao also attended a review meeting on the Fisheries and Sheep Rearing wings of Animal Husbandry department here to discuss about the same.

"Both development of fisheries and sheep rearing will play a major role in revamping the rural economy in the State.

I want the state to become one of the major exporters of the Sheep meat to other states and countries," he said.

The Chief Minister also announced that a Cabinet Sub-Committee under the Chairmanship of Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has been constituted to prepare a comprehensive plan of action on the development of fisheries and sheep rearing.

"People are going to get large benefits thanks to the irrigation projects, schemes of the state government and hence will now the focus should be on having a detailed action plan to develop and help people who rely on their hereditary trades," Rao said.
