New Delhi [India], August 5 : The Congress on Saturday lambasted Mika Singh for using term 'Apna Pakistan' in a viral video and said being an Indian, to praise a country like Pakistan, which ploys against New Delhi is incorrect.
"The act of Mika Singh is very unfortunate and condemnable. He is enjoying the overwhelming fame because of India. The Indians have showered their love on him. He should know that the Pakistan which he is praising is our enemy. Pakistan always plans and plots against India and to praise such a country is incorrect," Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam told ANI.
Nirupam asked Mika to apologise for his act and to withdraw his statement. Mika Singh has drawn flak from Indian-Americans for his appeal to his fans in Houston to join him in celebrating the independence days of India and "Apna Pakistan".
People are also said to have taken Singh's comment as cruel joke in the wake of the ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC), which have claimed lives of many Indian security personnel and innocent civilians.
