Two dead at Texas’s North Lake College shooting

Irving [United States], May 4 : Two people have been reported dead in a shooting that took place at Texas's North Lake College in Irving.

The Independent quoted James Mclellan of the Irving Police Department as saying that the body of a suspect and one possible deceased victim was found in a building on the campus.

The police confirmed that the suspected shooter had committed suicide. "We have what appears to be one victim deceased (and) the shooter has committed suicide," Irving Police Department tweeted.

"There appears to be no continuing threat but police will continue to search to make the campus safe," the Irving Police Department said in another tweet.

However, the police till now have not been able to identify the deceased. The college asked those who were on the campus to go to the nearest room and take shelter after the reported the incident took place.

North Lake College said in a series of tweets about the incident: "North Lake College-Intruder Lock-down.

Go to nearest room and lock-down. If not at campus STAY AWAY for your own safety (DCCCD Alerts). North Lake College Intruder Lock-down. Police Searching Buildings - Follow their Instructions. If not at campus STAY AWAY. Campus is closed for the remainder of the day. All students, staff, visitors outside the campus must leave the perimeter.".
