Ultimately court will take action against Rahul, says M.G. Vaidya on

New Delhi [India], Nov. 16 : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue M.G. Vaidya on Wednesday said that if Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is granted bail by a Bhiwandi court in connection with a criminal defamation case filed against him, then it is the ultimate decision of the court and Rahul has to justify himself to get a clean chit in the matter.

Vaidya told ANI, "If the court has granted bail to Rahul Gandhi, then it is good. Getting bail is not something big, the matter will go and this matter is not something new.If Rahul Gandhi said so during his election rally is not something new.

The ultimate decision would be of court." "If he has denied to ask for forgiveness, then it is his decision and what all justifications he has for them, he can present it in the court of law regarding the involvement of the Sangh in the killing of Mahatma Gandhi," he added.

Vaidya further said it is up to Rahul, to justify himself. Gandhi was granted bail by a Bhiwandi court in connection with criminal defamation case filed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday.

Bail has been granted on the basis of personal surety and the next date of hearing has been fixed for January 28.

A local RSS functionary, Rajesh Kunte, had filed the case against Gandhi for claiming at an election rally on March 6, 2014 that the right wing organisation had killed Mahatma Gandhi.

Though the Supreme Court has stayed the proceedings against him, Gandhi appeared before Magistrate D.P.

Kale in Bhiwandi on July 8 last year. Gandhi had in September withdrawn his petition filed in the apex court, challenging the case and said he would face the trial.

He expressed his readiness to face the trial after the top court refused to interfere with the criminal proceedings pending against him before the trial court.

He moved the apex court challenging the order of the Bombay high court refusing to quash the defamation case and summons issued to him by the trial court.

After the withdrawal of the case, the court had summoned Gandhi for further proceedings..
