Vivek Oberoi’s Karrm Infrastructure announces five lakh affordable homes

New Delhi [India], Sep 16 : 'Karma Yogi' Vivek Oberoi's company Karrm Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. has come up with affordable housing project in Shahapur, Maharashtra under the umbrella program mission 360.

The affordable housing project will provide housing to more than 15,000 families at a cost of Rs. 7,90,000. Shahapur is the first affordable housing project of Karrm Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd and the company plans to expand rapidly with a target of 5,00,000 apartments within the next three to five years.

Shahapur is the first project under mission 360 program and will be followed the announcement of 7 more affordable housing projects over the next quarter.

"Karrm's affordable housing projects provide enhanced lifestyle solutions for better living standards.

The idea is to improve the living conditions of the poor and underprivileged and to provide their families a respectable accommodation and a safer environment," said actor, philanthropist and business tycoon, Vivek Oberoi.

According to Government of India, 1.77 million people in India do not have a place to live. The government of India launched an ambitious plan of providing housing for all by 2020 under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana.

As per government statistics, the number of people living in slums in India has more than doubled in the past two decades and now exceeds the entire population of Britain.

The number of people living in slums is projected to rise to 93 million in 2011 or 7.75 percent of the total population almost double the population of Britain.
