Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 3 : A total of 6,862 more persons tested coronvirus positive in Kerala on Tuesday after 61,138 more samples were tested in the past 24 hours, taking the test positivity rate below 12 for the first time in recent weeks.
State Health Minister KK Shailaja said that 8,802 more persons also tested negative for the virus in the southern state.
"The active cases total 84,713, whereas 3,64,745 others have been cured.
The day saw 26 more COVID-19 deaths, taking the state's death toll to 1,559," she said.
Across the state, 2,96,614 people are kept under observation, including 20,770 in various hospitals.
There were 652 corona hotspots in the state.
