New Delhi [India], Dec. 20 : Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah on Tuesday congratulated Chandigarh unit of the party for winning the state municipal corporation polls.
"I whole heartedly congratulate the president of the Chandigarh BJP unit, the Member of Parliament and all the workers.
I am also thankful to the people of Chandigarh for supporting the BJP," Shah told media here. "Post demonetisation we have won by-elections in five states. We have won the Maharashtra municipal council polls, Rajasthan polls, Gujarat election. Now, in the Chandigarh polls, the people have supported the BJP whole heartedly," Shah said. He further said that the BJP has won all elections that have taken place post demonetisation, which indicates that the public has given its approval stamp to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation decision.
The BJP-SAD alliance has won 21 municipal seats out of a total 26 seats up for grabs. Congress won four seats, while one seat was won by an Independent. BJP workers and supporters are celebrating this major victory..
