While he is yet to start the series, he revealed that it will be in comedy space. "As an actor, you want to do something outrageous which I always look forward to. I have got one that is outrageous, which I will be doing for Amazon. "You will be going nuts and think what I am doing? I would hate to do anything that doesn't entertain people, no matter what the genre is. It should be exciting and worth watching and not depress people. The actor further teased the series, saying it is. It is bizarre to another level. Amazon is also very excited. I have not done anything like that in my life. It is one of its kind that comes and then never comes again," he said.

On the work front, Arshad Warsi will be next starring in Anees Bazmee's Pagalpanti, alongside Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ileana D'Cruz, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela and Saurabh Shukla. The film will release on November 22.

John Abraham reveals he is developing two web series, says it’s difficult to get funding for female oriented films

John Abraham is busy a man whilst starring in several projects and even bankrolling many of them. The actor is currently promoting Pagalpanti, a madcap comedy right after a gritty thriller Batla House which released on Independence Day, this year. As a producer, the actor has been churning out content that he would like to see on the big screen.

John Abraham reveals he is developing two web series, says it's difficult to get funding for female oriented films

With the surge of shows and movies on OTT platforms, the actor is also heading towards the digital platform. "I am developing two web-series. I have been developing them for two years. It will take some more time. We have got the rights of a best selling book, it is an interesting book. I can't reveal the name. They are hard-hitting but I don't see myself acting in it," he said.

These days many movies get a second life on OTT platforms after they didn't fare well at the box office. When asked how does he look at it, John Abraham said, "There is a completely new audience that watches the film on the digital platform. A large section of audiences who watches movies on digital, they do not go theatres then. And this is shocking. There is research data on this. The film viewing habits are low. They (digital medium) have given a new lease of content for directors, actors, and audience. It has changed the landscape of the way we look at films and make films and series."

Meanwhile, John also revealed during Pagalpanti promotions that he is developing two female-oriented projects. But, even as a producer, it is still difficult to find studios to back such films. The actor has produced movies like Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe, Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran, Batla House among others. "I have got two films that are female-oriented and they are fantastic. But to convince a studio that I want to sell this and make it into a certain price is an effort. No matter what we say about changing times, it is still an effort. It is an ongoing battle," John said.

John Abraham, on the work front, has a good slate of films starting with Pagalpanti which is releasing on November 22, 2019. This will be followed by Attack franchise and Satyameva Jayate 2.

Akshay Kumar speaks up on accusations about inflated box office numbers of Housefull 4

Akshay Kumar had his Diwali release with comedy film Housefull 4 starring an ensemble cast. As the film has already crossed Rs. 100 crores at the box office, discussion began about the figures being exaggerated. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, said that nobody is going to lie about this.

Akshay Kumar speaks up on accusations about inflated box office numbers of Housefull 4

When asked whether the trends on twitter about fake Housefull 4 numbers upset him, Akshay Kumar said, “Do I look upset? I am from that era where I have heard a lot of people say a lot of things. But I have never said anything. In my school, I was taught, ‘Mind your own business.’”

Just recently, Ronnie Screwvala pointed out that trade analysts should report box office numbers accurately. He clarified that it wasn’t about one movie (since Housefull 4 released that weekend) but as a system, the numbers should be reported accurately because it builds credibility of the industry.

When Akshay Kumar was asked about how he feels about this in general, he added, “It doesn’t make a difference. What will I do? You can talk to theatre owners. You will keep asking me this same question four times to get an answer. The answer is I am not writing all this. These people are writing it. I am not running anything. My point of view is very simple, whatever comes in front of the media as you react to it, I react to it. So, there is nothing new about it.”

“There is a studio called Fox Star Studios (involved with the film), it has big credibility. It is corporate. It runs from LA. It is not possible. We should use our brains. They make films of millions and millions of dollars and for them to increase by three or five nothing will happen. So, let’s talk sense. They (Fox Star Studios) are writing it on their own (Twitter) handle and it goes everywhere, they have to report to everyone. Nobody is going to lie about this,” he added.

When asked what the last box office figure he knew the film had made, he maintained the film has done a business of about Rs. 137 crores.

Further, someone asked what if box office figures are not put on public platforms. To this, Akshay Kumar responded, “If a corporate won’t put then anyone else will put it. It is like an open book, one can call theatres and you can calculate it. I don’t think that we shouldn’t put it, we should put it.”

Housefull 4 is presented and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and co-produced by Fox Star Studios, directed by Farhad Samji. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and Kriti Kharbanda and released on 25th October 2019.
