Centre acting like Gandhi’s three monkey on demonetisation: Renuka Chowdhury

New Delhi [India], Dec. 7 : Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury on Wednesday said that Centre is acting like Gandhi's three monkeys on the issue of demonetisation.

"Government is behaving like Gandhi's three monkeys, as it does not want to hear, look or speak over any issue.

It is acting like deaf and mute," she said. She said that problems are increasing day by day because of the ban of the high-demonetisation currency.

"The agony has been increased because of the cash crunch," Chowdhury added. "We neither have black money nor white," the Rajya Sabha MP said adding that some influential people are getting their black money deposited in the bank without any hurdle.

With the opposition sticking to its demand for a discussion under Rule 184 in the Lok Sabha and seeking an apology from Prime Minister Modi in the Rajya Sabha, the BJP also hardened its stance, condemning the manner in which they were stalling Parliament.

Since the beginning of winter session of the Parliament, opposition has been demanding a debate on demonetisation along with Prime Minister Modi's participation in it.

Both houses have been adjourned many times, including today where the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 p.m.

and Rajya Sabha till 2 p.m. Meanwhile, BJP Parliamentary Party passed a resolution praising citizens for their support of the Union government's demonetisation move.

The resolution was moved by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and was seconded by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Briefing the media after the BJP Parliamentary meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar on Wednesday said the ruling dispensation has passed a resolution, welcoming the people's support for demonetisation despite the trouble people were facing.
