Communication critical for good governance, says Naidu

Hyderabad, Aug 13 : Noting that communication plays an important role for governance, Information and Broadcasting Minister M.

Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday said that communication is essential for minimum government and maximum governance.

While addressing Information Service officers at the Indian School of Business, Naidu said that information should be "credible and confirmed." He asked the officers to come out with ideas to device new strategies and new modes of communication in order to reach out to the people and inform them about government schemes.

"We have a bounded duty to communicate with the people to explain them about the benefits of government schemes and for that communication has to be more effective," he said.

"Taking the government's work to the people is the main agenda of the communication policy," he added.

Naidu further said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Mann Ki baat" is an excellent communication platform where he not only directly communicates on diverse topics issues, but also takes feedback.
