COVID-19: Record 82 cases in 24 hrs, Andhra tally 1,259; active cases 970

Amaravati, April 28 : Andhra Pradesh reported a record 82 coronavirus positive cases on Tuesday morning, taking the state's tally to 1,259.

Since 258 persons have been cured and discharged, the active cases are 970.

The state's death toll is 31.

The state nodal officer reported that 82 of the 5,783 samples tested during the 24 hours ending 10 am on Tuesday were positive.

The previous single-day high of 81 cases was reported on Sunday and Thursday.

As per a media bulletin released on Tuesday, Kurnool district accounted for 40 new cases, Guntur district 17 cases, and Krishna district 13 cases.

Kadapa and Nellore districts reported 7 and 3 cases respectively, while Anantapur and Chittoor districts reported one case each.

District-wise, Kurnool tops with total 332 cases, followed by Guntur with 254, and Krishna with 223 cases.



No new cases were reported from 6 districts, including Vizianagaram which remains unaffected till date.
