Does Lalu, RJD have respect for democracy: BJP

New Delhi [India], May 17 : Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Bhupender Yadav on Wednesday branded the clash between the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and BJP workers as total disrespect of democracy on the RJD's part.

"This shows the condition of law and order in the state. No matter what, we will expose Lalu in front of people," Yadav told ANI. He blamed the Bihar Government for this incident and asserted that people in power cannot take the law in their hands.

Earlier, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called for serious action to be taken by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the matter.

"This kind of gherao is clearly not acceptable. Nitish Kumar is surviving because of the support of Lalu Prasad," he said. The scuffle between the workers of the two parties took place after some activists surrounded the BJP party office.

The clash took place a day after the Income Tax department conducted raids at 22 locations in Delhi linked to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The raids were reportedly conducted on charges of illegal (benami) land deals worth Rs. 1,000 crores. Lalu Yadav is already under scanner in connection with mid- 1990s fodder scam case..
