‘Film industry is always a soft target’: Divya Khosla Kumar on attack on Bhansali

New Delhi [India], Jan. 31 : The entire film industry has come out in support of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was recently assaulted by Rajput Karni Sena workers during 'Padmavati' shooting in Jaipur.

And the recent one to join the league is Divya Khosla Kumar. "I was very sad and I felt very humiliated because Sanjay Leela Bhansali is my favourite filmmaker and he is such a respectful filmmaker of our country and what happened with him was very sad.

I think film industry just became target of everything and that's really not fair," she said in an interview to ANI.

"At the end of the day we all are creative people and we all work from our hearts. Those unscrupulous people elements who came they don't even know what is screenplay, what script it and without knowing anything they just came on the set and damaged the property.

It was completely inhumane, she added. Celebrities including Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Vikram Bhatt, Raza Murad Akshay Kumar, Mukesh Bhatt, Sunil Shetty and 'Padmavati' actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor have earlier came out in support of Bhansali.

Workers of Rajput Karni Sena on Friday created ruckus and assaulted the filmmaker on the sets of 'Padmavati', claiming that the film portrayed a much-celebrated Rajput queen in 'poor light'.
