Washington D.C. [USA], Nov. 17 : Like it or not 'The Vampire Diaries' is coming to an end with its eighth season airing on March 10 next year.
According to E! Online, 'TVD's season finale will air a week ahead of its spinoff 'The Originals' which will debut its new season beginning March 17.
Developed by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, the American supernatural drama television series follows the life of a teenage girl Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), who is caught in love triangle between the Salvadore brothers who have lived too long a life as vampires.
The CW Television Network also announced a few time slot moves ('Legends of Tomorrow' and 'Supernatural') along with the returns of 'The 100' and 'iZombie'.
New drama 'Riverdale', which is based on the Archie comics, will debut while the network airs the season finales of two fall series 'Frequency' and 'No Tomorrow'.
'Supergirl' and 'Jane the Virgin' are currently being aired on CW as the midseason premiere schedule also shows 'The Flash' and 'Arrow' taking time slots on Tuesdays and Wednesdays respectively beginning January last week.
